Mukono District RDC Fred Bamwine Okays NRM Political Gathering which Violates COVID-19 Regulation

Mukono District NRM members led by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Fred Bamwine have violated almost every step of Presidential directive as put in order to fight the deadly COVID-19 pandemic when they gathered almost 200 people in a very tiny place which is against regulation put in place to fight COVID-19.

The event which took place at NRM offices of Mukono district was nearer the Division Police Headquarters of Mukono but no single police officer came out to disperse with an aim of enforcing presidential directives as it has been doing on opposition politicians.

Majority of them who gathered at this function which is illegal according to current regulations of fighting COVID-19 few of them had face masks and some of them who had them were not using them properly as recommended by ministry of health.

In this meeting, the RDC Fred Bamwine assured NRM members that there will not be any one to disrupt them as they are carrying out their political activities and assured them of full security to wherever they will go to hold the same rallies.

In the same gathering, the Mukono District NRM Chairperson Hajji Twahiri Ssebaggala warned all NRM Party members to stop associating with People Power affiliated members and most especially those in Mukono municipality because it causes the poor performance of the party.

This event was organized to launch the 16 motorcycles donated to Mukono District NRM sub county chairpersons to help them in the search for votes in the next general elections of 2020 by Hajji Haruna Ssemakula.

After handing over these motor bikes, Hajji Haruna Ssemakula used this same platform to declare his intention to run for the Mukono District Local Government chairpersonship in the next general elections which caused one of the aspirants on the same position Jonathan Mawanda to withdraw his bid.
